"As James Lawrence, aka the IronCowboy is completing his current extreme endurance set of races,  he is attempting to raise awareness on the incredibly important issue of child obesity in the USA,  a cause that the Jamie Oliver US Food Foundation is fully aligned with.  We are thrilled James is raising awareness of this much needed cause and we are very happy to accept the donations raised by the Iron Cowboy during his 50-50-50  record attempt."

100% of all donations go directly to the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation.  Please add "IronCowboy Project" in the "Dedicate my donation" field so we can see the collective results of our donations.  Thank you so much for your generosity!

IronCowboy and Jamie Oliver Food Foundation

As the charity partner for the Iron Cowboys 50-50-50 event, we are thrilled to support James’ aim to raise $1million to fight the obesity crisis in the US. The funding that his event will generate will have a dual purpose – we will provide direct financial support to schools that wish to incorporate practical food education on the curriculum. These micro-grants will be used to support US schools at a grassroots level to develop and improve their programmes around food, nutrition and growing. The remaining funds would be used for research, to ensure that the interventions and materials we create will continue to have the biggest possible impact and drive the behavioural change that is needed to truly reverse the current obesity crisis.

Thank you so much for your support. Through aiding our research, food education and hands-on training, your donation will help more children lead happier, healthier lives.

More on the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation

  • Almost one-quarter of two to five year olds and one-third of school children are overweight or obese in the US.

  • Children today are the first generation predicted to live shorter lives than their parents, due to poor diet and inactivity.

  • Obesity rates have more than doubled since the 1970s.

  • More than two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese.

Jamie Oliver’s wish is to create a strong sustainable movement to educate every child about food, inspire families to cook again and empower people everywhere to fight obesity.

Through the work of the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation, we aim to shape the health and well being of current and future generations and contribute to a healthier world, by providing access to food education for everyone. Our research drives and influences practical food education programmes that directly empower the communities that need it the most.
