Day 26 Splits

Swim: 1:31:29

Bike: 7:16:22

Run: 5:39:08

Total: 14:26:59

The most important analysis of the day: 50-26=24 and 24<25

Another good day for James. 8 of the last 9 days have taken 14:45 or less. His run today was the fastest since Day 15. The first 13 days averaged 14:42 per day, the second 13 averaged 14:36 (both elapsed time). The more forgiving terrain east of Colorado probably has a lot to do with this, but he still does not appear to be physically fading.

Another blood test was done a few days ago by Dr. Rob Chen (who recently finished his first IM!) and sent to me today. I'm not qualified to interpret, but the doctor who took it says James appears to be just fine to continue. A few markers outside normal, but nothing of concern. I have also forwarded the test to Dr. John Post, a former colleague of mine at TrainingBible Coaching, who has also agreed to provide invaluable consulting to James for the remainder of the 505050.

Good news! James' urine tested negative for Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzadiazepines, Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine.

He did test positive for Crazysonofabitch.

James expressed some concern tonight if it would all be worth it. I assured him that it would be. I've gone from a skeptical, antiseptic coach to a true believer in the past 10 days.
